iHack Phone’s Step-by-Step process to easily Jailbreaking your iPod Touch. I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE IF ANYTHING HAPPENS TO YOUR IPOD TOUCH, DURING OR AFTER THE JAILBREAKING PROCESS.
-
(If you have a new iPod Touch) Start off by connecting it to iTunes like the device tells you to do. Once you’ve done that you should see your home screen.
-
Unfortunately, last time I tried to use AppSnap (1.1.1 only), it didn’t work so we’re going to use ZiPhone. (I found it to be the fastest and safest way to Jailbreak your iPod Touch. You can download ZiPhone HERE. (Choose if you have a PC or Mac)
-
Once ZiPhone is fully downloaded and unzipped, start ‘ZiPhoneGUI’ found in the ‘ZiPhone’ folder. Make Sure iTunes is also open
-
Now, ZiPhone claims to work on all firmware versions, (1.1.1-1.1.4) BUT sadly, IT DOES NOT. I have found ZiPhone only works for Firmware Versions 1.1.2-1.1.4. To check what firmware you’re running on check on iTunes.
-
Connect your iPod Touch to your PC or Mac. Once ZiPhone has detected your iPod Touch, click on the button that says,”Jailbreak iPod also supported” Don’t do anything but just wait until it says it’s finished. (Follow any on screen instructions).
-
Once it’s finished, your iPod Touch should be at the home screen. You should see 2 NEW icons besides the original icons. 1 is the blue Installer.app and the other is a Web Clip to the ZiPhone blog. You can keep the web clip if you’d like, but I just deleted it.
And there you go! ‘How to Jailbreak an iPod Touch’!!! Hope you have fun with your new jailbroken iPod Touch! If anything happens to your iPod, just connect to iTunes and Restore it to it’s factory settings. Remember, I am not responsible if anything happens to your iPod Touch.
